The 3+1 study programme

Godalming provides you with a unique opportunity to follow a 3+1 level 3 study programme. This involves you studying three main subjects over two years with an additional one year course alongside these in the first year. There are also opportunities to study a further one year qualification in the second year.

Students who achieve at least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (or grade C or above) will qualify for studying on a level 3 study programme. GCSE qualifications are the most suitable for study at Level 3. Equivalent qualifications in vocational courses will be accepted, provided they are in a subject related to a course which has been applied for. However, these courses alone are not adequate for entry onto a Level 3 progamme and would always need to be accompanied by an appropriate range of GCSE qualifications. Please note that entry onto some courses require specific GCSEs and grades. Please see individual course information for more detail. A lack of GCSE English Language at grade 4 will significantly restrict study programme options. All students who have yet to achieve Maths and/or English GCSE at grade 4 or above have to retake these subjects as part of their study programme.
