Media GCSE

Media Studies GCSE is designed to allow students to draw on their existing experience of the media, as well as strengths and skills learnt at English Language GCSE. It enables them to explore and create a wide variety of media - including digital media technologies - drawing on the fundamental concepts of the subject, including media language, audiences, institutions and representation. This qualification is designed to enable students to access Level 3 courses.

An average overall GCSE grade of 3 based on best eight entries with at least two grade 4s.
70% external assessment, 30% internal assessment.
Students on this course can progress to the wide range of AS and A level courses offered at the college, and the BTEC Level 3 courses may be of particular interest.
