Media: Creative Digital Media Production BTEC National (level 3) Diploma
The BTEC Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production is an exciting and practical course which offers a number of transferable skills in preparation for employment or further educational study in areas of television and film. It is an industry focussed two-year course in which you will be working on a number of different units, exploring behind the scenes in the television and film industries and producing practical and written assignments. You will focus on different areas of the creative media industry that employers and companies have identified as desirable skills in employees and in addition, may have opportunities to gain work experience in the film and TV industry.
Units include - Fiction Film; Screenwriting; Single-camera Production; Responding to a Brief; Editing; and Multi-camera Production.
Whilst much of the practical work will be carried out in groups, it is also worth noting that there is a significant written element to the course.
Entry requirements: Grade 4 in GCSE English or Media Studies, or a Pass at BTEC First Award
Course assessment: There will be a combination of internally assessed practical projects and assignments, together with externally assessed examined units. Grades of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* are awarded which are equivalent to A levels for the purpose of university entrance.
