Health and Social Care BTEC (Level 2) First Award

This course has been designed to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of the health and Social Care sector and relate them to relevant employment situations. You will learn about health, early years, education and social care and the variety of roles in this growing industry.

An average overall GCSE grade of 3, based on the best eight entries with at least two grade 4s.
Assessment
Assessment will be carried out primarily through coursework, one unit will be an externally marked exam.
Progression
The BTEC Level 2 First Award in health and Social Care will provide a good introduction to the subject. Combines with other GCSEs and equivalent it provides access to Level 3 qualifications, for example the BTEC Level 3 National qualifications in Health and Social Care which, along with other Level 3 courses are an entry route to university or employment. The BTEC Level 2 First Award in Health and Social Care is also a well-respected qualification in its own right, and is widely recognised by employers.
