I decided to study subjects that I’ve always really loved: History, Art, and English Literature; as well as Art History, a completely new subject for me which I thought would link well with my other subjects. Throughout my two years here these subjects have become infinitely more exciting and fascinating to me due to the fantastic courses and independent, mature way we are encouraged to learn.

After studying French at Godalming for 2 years I am constantly amazed at the amount of progress I have made in such a short space of time. Thanks to the weekly speaking sessions with the French Assistant and the trip to Le Château de la Baudonnière my confidence in speaking French has grown hugely. I am now able to speak spontaneously and debate about a wide range of relevant topics such as immigration and nuclear energy

I came to Godalming College to be able to study Music A-Level in a large and collaborative environment. I enjoy being part of the music department particularly when all of the Choirs, Bands and Orchestra perform and make Music together. Here at Godalming College I have had a handful of wonderful opportunities from directing the string group to singing in Choirs and recently being asked to conduct a fellow student’s work in Orchestra.

My ambition is to become an electronic music producer, and Music Tech has provided me with the expertise and knowledge in order to help me develop and progress. For example, I have learnt how to best record specific instruments, and how to effectively mix and master a track. You are given the opportunity to work with some extremely talented musicians within the college, as well as provided with the experience to set up and use live sound equipment. The facilities available are of high quality and this really helps in being able to produce at a near professional level.

I am an Upper Sixth Student at Godalming College. I study Physics, Maths and Chemistry as well as an EPQ (I did History as well in my first year). I came from a relatively small school, Duke of Kent School, and I feared the step up to a big college would side line me and make me fall by the way side. However, I was proved completely wrong! The support staff and students are really friendly and within the first few days I had already made many new friends.
