ClassAction, Godalming College’s Theatre Company has been a key component in helping me excel in confidence as a practitioner and develop my skills to their full potential as an Actor. Providing me with regular acting opportunities, whether it be putting on plays, musicals, such as RENT, or organising professional workshops with companies such as Frantic Assembly, there’s never an occasion within the department where nothing exciting is occurring. From a very young age I’ve wanted to pursue acting as career, yet my ignorance at this age prevented me from comprehending the dedication, persistence and motivation required to be successful alongside
understanding the competitiveness of the industry.

ClassAction running events such as ‘practitioners panel’, in which current students had the opportunity to talk to exstudents either in training or working professionally in the
industry, have helped me prepare for the exhilarating yet difficult industry that I plan to enter soon. Events such as Practitioners Panel will prevent me from entering the industry unprepared which is crucial if I want to be successful. ClassAction Theatre Company supports those wanting to pursue Performing Art’s subjects at both Drama School and University and provide beneficial audition advice which has resulted in me getting into Drama School at such a young age. Drama and Theatre Studies A Level has helped me abandon my comfort zone and create relevant and engaging pieces of theatre for a contemporary audience. I’ve learnt the importance of giving theatre a meaning and have shown this by imbedding contextual research into my devised work. This A Level has also helped me measure my individual skills within monologue work; regular individual performance assessments helped me stay on track and resulted in me achieving the top
grade in my AS year.
