"There has never been a more exciting time to be a part of ClassAction…" Andrew Pullen. Godalming College
"ClassAction", Godalming College's very own performance company have just bought the curtain down on their very successful Contemporary Theatre Festival 2014 at Studio 816 in Godalming. The festival show-cased 20 new productions over a four week period – from dance to drama via physical theatre, and featured over 130 performers treading the boards in some ‘contemporary classics'. Productions included re-imaginings of "Let the Right One In" and "London Road" through "Pool (no water)" and "Pornography". Other genres included musical theatre - "Spring Awakening the musical" and "Be My Baby" and some classic contemporary dance performances.
The festival featured performers who have secured places at some of the country's top dance and drama schools; offers for September include places at East 15, London Contemporary Dance School, Mountview, Laines, Drama Centre and Performers. The productions were directed by the outstanding staff from the drama and dance faculty and were mentored by ex ClassAction student Max Bowden who will be seen in the new series of the BBC drama “Waterloo Road” at the end of the Summer. "This was a dynamic, exciting and fresh festival of relevant performance. There were some superb performers on that stage, and ClassAction are lifting them onto the ladder at the start of their careers" – Andrew Pullen, Head of Department.
