Award Winning Cartographers

The Geography Department at Godalming College has received 2 awards from the British Cartographic Society for their entries in the 'Restless Earth' cartography competition.

Awards were received for students' tsunami response maps, produced in response to the Sendai earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The maps won 'most commended award' and overall 3rd place award nationally. 'I'm absolutely delighted with the efforts of our Geography students in achieving these awards.

Its a reflection of their consistent hard work and positive attitude throughout the year' stated James Jagger, Head of Geography
Judges of the competition wrote "excellent pictorial annotations showing movement of different items usable and clear with new ideas"

Congratulations go to Jasmin, Hollie, Beth, Molly and Lucy who made up the winning Cartography team.
