Godalming College's music department opened the season of Music in the Park at the Bandstand in The Burys. Students from the college’s concert orchestra and jazz band performed a two hour set in sunshine to a large audience.
Rosie Sutton (A2 Music student) wrote an arrangement of Live and Let Die where she performed a dramatic virtuosic solo part on the electric violin. Big thanks to her!
Some of the pieces performed:
• Orchestra performed: Blues Brothers Medley, Pomp and Circumstance, Party Dance Mix, Happy
• Jazz Band performed: September, Knock on Wood, Skyfall, Sway
Special thanks to the upper sixth students who are now sadly leaving us after two years of incredible music making. They will be missed but will go down in the history of Godalming College as being one of the best orchestras ever!
More chances to catch the Jazz Band, Godalming College Singers and Chamber Choir at Arts Festival on 3rd July.
