The Dan Eley Foundation Spring Benefit Concert

Olympian Roger Black MBE was the special guest of Dan Eley at the Foundation’s Spring Benefit Concert where Godalming College students performed a fantastic array of musical genres to a packed audience, which also included the Mayors of Waverley and Godalming and representatives of Surrey Youth Focus, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Surrey Youth Services.

My favourite part of ARTiculation was the research into the painting. I wrote to Chatsworth and uncovered lots of facts about Georgiana’s life and her decadent lifestyle as one of the richest women in Britain at that time.

New Principal for Godalming College

Revelations by Alvin Ailey

Alvin Ailey’s ground breaking ‘Revelations’ has become a cultural treasure that has been beloved by generations of fans, since its premiere in 1960. The piece was born from Ailey’s own memories, of his childhood in rural Texas and the Baptist Church. It tells the story of African-American faith and tenacity, from slavery to freedom, through a suite of dances set to spiritual and blues music.

"Mike Barlett's '13' is a new play about civil unrest in a nightmarish parallel London. It starts with student riots and ends in a big Downing Street set piece, and links them via a dozen individual storylines. It was a big challenge - and a fantastic opportunity for this talented young cast. As our world becomes ever more confusing and the number of heard voices increases, this style of multi-layered, collaborative and somewhat confused play is only going to become more popular. 13 asks each and every one of us to interrogate our own beliefs and values and opens up a discourse which must and will take place." says Andrew Pullen, Head of Drama
