Godalming teams have enjoyed new facilities from September 2016 when two new netball courts and the international standard sports pitches at Ashtead Lane came into play. These have provided outstanding amenities which many opposing teams are envious of.
Our links with clubs such as Guildford Rugby, Surrey Scorchers, Fullham Football Club and The England Rugby Football Club all enhance the experience for our students and the capacity of the teams.

A summary of 2016/17
Basketball - Godalming finished third in the Surrey Sixth Form Basketball League after 9 wins from 14 games. The team have competed well in the division and narrowly missed out on 2nd place to Reigate. The team finished the spring term strong with 4 wins out of 5, most recently beating Collyers 75-70. Well done to all players for a great season!
Football 1s - The team have had a very good season this year on the brand new pitches, by winning the highly competitive Surrey Sixth Form League Division 1 and again reaching the final of the Surrey Schools Cup. Unfortunately the team suffered some injuries to key players and could not quite achieve the double this time around, however a huge congratulations goes out to all the boys for their commitment throughout the season and of course, finishing the season as champions!
Football 2s - The 2nds have followed on from some of the successes of the 1st team by winning the Surrey Sixth Form League Division 2 in convincing fashion - going undefeated throughout the entire season in the league - finishing with 8 wins & 2 draws from 10 matches. A great achievement by all the boys and another congratulations to everyone who contributed throughout the season.
Football 3s - The 3rds finished in mid-table in a competitive Surrey Sixth Form League Division 3 this season which, although not what the boys would have liked, is a good accomplishment considering there were a number of other games which the team definitely had the ability to win. The improvement seen in the players throughout the season has been great to see and is very promising for next year.
Girls football - The girls have had a great season too, finishing 2nd in the Surrey Sixth Form League - Girls Division, with 8 wins from 12. The team have also followed on from the boys 1st team in their cup competition and reached the final of the Surrey Schools Cup. The final is due to be played after Easter vs Ursaline School so best of luck to the girls for that, but a huge congratulations goes out to the team for their achievements already.
Netball 1s - The 1sts Netball team have continued on from their superb record last year and have won the Surrey Sixth Form League Division 1, going the entire season un-beaten and winning 10 out of 10 games! Another fantastic achievement. They have also beaten other high standard teams in friendlies, however haven't quite matched their league successes in tournaments. Still a great season and another strong team it seems for next year! Well done to all the girls for again being champions!
Netball 2s - The 2nds Netball team have followed in the same manner as the 1st team, maintaining their top spot in the Surrey Sixth Form League Division 2 and winning all of their matches also! The girls performed well in a recent tournament also and although didn't win, beat a number of strong teams which shows the high standard of the team. Congratulations to all the girls on ending the season as champions!
Rugby - The boys have also enjoyed a great season in the prestigious AoC South East Division 1, finishing in 2nd place with 5 wins from 8 games. In the final friendly of the season, the boys had a highly competitive match against Newman College which they unfortunately narrowly lost, however the good standard of the sides was evident to see and bodes well for next season. Well done to all the students who have contributed to the team this year and shown fantastic commitment.
AoC Nationals - Godalming College have this year qualified 3 students for the prestigious Association of Colleges Nationals event held at Nottingham University. Hannah Morris, Maddie Sturgess and Ruby Conway have all qualified for the girl’s cross-country while Lucy Shawhill has qualified for the girl’s rugby team. Best of luck to all the girls in representing team South East!
