This course is divided into four units: three mandatory units that provide a basic grounding in IT, and one selected unit.µ Mandatory units are Information Technology Systems; Creating Systems to Manage Information and Using Social Media in Business.µ Selected units can include Data Modelling and Website Development.µ Other units are available including animation and 2D and 3D digital graphics. This course is designed to provide a very hands-on approach to IT and will include work experience.

Grade 4 in GCSE English Language and Maths.
Assessment
At least one of the mandatory units is a written examination that is externally marked. Two others involve electronically submitted work prepared under supervised conditions and pre-set by Pearson. All other units are covered by the production of a portfolio of evidence.
Progression
Demand for IT personnel is increasing; consequently job opportunities for well-qualified individuals are high. An ever-increasing number of degree related courses and degree apprenticeships are now available to extend your understanding and operation available to extend your understanding and operation of IT. In many cases IT degree courses are combined with another subject to take advantage of the specialised industries that exploit the use of IT.
