Pitching to Parliament

In October, Surrey University visited Godalming College to run a workshop with politics students on how social media and technology can be used to engage young people in politics. The groups of students made presentations in an initial round and the winning group won the chance to pitch their ideas at Parliament.

A total of 14 groups from schools and colleges in the UK where split into two rounds of 7 and took part in a competitive pitch of their ideas in Westminster. The Godalming group where both compelling and articulate in their speech which was followed by a question and answer session. They did very well both in asking questions of other groups and responding to questions directed to them. All teams took part in the voting process and Godalming College students came second in their round. It was an excellent networking event and a great visit to parliament.
