Hospitality raises more £1000 for charity

The second year hospitality and event management groups have had a successful term planning and organising two charity events as part of their BTEC course.  The first event was a Parent Quiz Night held on Wednesday 21st March in aid of World Down’s Syndrome Day and raising funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association.  85 guests attended the event and were provided a fish and chip supper, bar, raffle and a brilliant quiz all hosted by the students.  An awesome £829 was raised by the event and brilliant feedback has been received from many of the attending guests.  On Thursday 22nd March we also hosted a ‘Vintage Day’ at college where a local vintage clothes supplier came in to college to sell a wide range of clothes and the students sold cakes, sweets, popcorn and mini photos to the students.  Again a valiant effort was shown with a total of £267 being raised for The Meath Epilepsy charity in Godalming.  A brilliant outcome and learning experience for both groups of hospitality students to take with them when they leave at the end of the academic year!
