Before joining Godalming College I wasn’t planning to take photography, however, after the Going To Godalming Day, I decided that I would be more interested in photography than the subject I had initially chosen. So when I began my education at Godalming College I was studying Photography, Art and History of Art which all worked really well together.
Taking photography was possibly one of the best choices I could have made for my college career. Not only did we begin by learning the technical aspects of the camera but it also allowed us to develop multiple projects across the year, where I soon realised that I enjoyed photography more than I ever thought I could, even deciding that I wanted to study photography at the University Of Creative Arts on the Farnham campus.
The second year of photography was challenging due to Covid as I really enjoy photographing urban architectural subjects, having said this it allowed me to explore still life as a subject matter linking to my project. I distinctively remember one point of my project where I had an idea and I passed it through Ellie (one of the lecturers) who wasn’t too sure but she challenged me to change her mind, I was so ambitious about my idea carrying it out and the challenge was a success.
My ambition and enthusiasm for photography only grew more and more as the year when on, as I said previously I want to study Photography at the University of Creative Arts. Building my ambitions, skills and enthusiasm for the subject hoping to continue with photography as a future career path.
