We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Film Buddy to provide bespoke employability services for our students in the Film, Television & Creative Media Industries. Collaborating with some of the largest production companies in the world, Film Buddy has successfully provided work experience and employment opportunities on some of the most prestigious Film, Television and Creative Media projects.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Gage Oxley to college, who shared his extensive industry experience running a production company and introducing Film Buddy to our students.
We were also joined by the talented costume and model maker Amanda Thomas and Location Manager David Seaton via Zoom.
Amanda Thomas is costume and model maker, who has worked on Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Amanda talked about her early loves of Bagpuss and Button Moon and what it was like knitting The Clangers. She also shared the story of the time Wes Anderson sent his real-life suit to Amanda’s workshop.
Next up was legendary Location Manager David Seaton, who worked on practically every blockbuster: Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Gravity, Fast & Furious, Guardians of the Galaxy… the list goes on. He shared his process for finding locations, blowing up buildings, and scouting in some not-so-nice places.
It was an incredibly insightful session, leaving our students inspired and eager to seize this amazing opportunity!
