Wellbeing Week at College

This week we celebrated Wellbeing Week for students and staff at College.  This gave everyone a chance to reflect on this term so far and prioritise self-care. The week featured a diverse range of activities aimed at fostering good physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

We kicked off the week with a busy Pets As Therapy (PAT) session with 9 therapy dogs in attendance. These sessions are very popular with our students and can really help to bring stress levels down and offer comfort. We are lucky to welcome a PAT dog to College once a month.

While staff were treated to fresh fruit and a meditation workshop, students got to explore a whole range of wellbeing-focused organisations and activities at the Wellbeing Fair on Tuesday.  The stands at the fair covered all aspects of health, fitness, nutrition and mindfulness, including many local organisations like the Green Hub Project.  Students had the opportunity to learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and how to access a variety of support services.

To round off the week, on Thursday we invited in a selection of companies offering free healthy snacks in the Student Dining Room.  Opposite this popular event, our Clubs and Societies set up their stands in the Social Study and invited the College community to explore the various student-led groups available at College.  This event fosters a sense of belonging and helps our students to connect with like-minded peers.

Overall, Wellbeing Week at Godalming College was a resounding success. The annual initiative not only provides valuable information and activities for our staff and student body but also highlights the importance of taking time to care for oneself and others. Participants finished the week feeling rejuvenated and more connected, ready to take on the rest of the academic year with a renewed sense of wellbeing.
