I initially chose Physics in combination with Maths and 3D design as I wanted to study architecture at university. There are so many topics covered on the course that I have gained many skills in Physics, which has helped me think more about my future. I took the engineering +enrichment, which is run by the physics department, this reignited my joy for engineering, and made me interested in the SATRO problem solving challenge, where my team proceeded to come first place for our age group.
The College physics department itself has plenty to offer, such as lunchtime sessions and clubs, last year I took part in electronics club and there is also an astronomy club in progress as there are two students machining parts for a telescope in their own time, which has been funded by the college. The department also offers lunchtime drop ins if you need help with any theory or practical write ups.
I definitely recommend physics at Godalming College as it has convinced me to apply for engineering at university, from the wonderful support system that Godalming has to offer to the enrichment programme.
