Environmental Science has been a fascinating subject to study due to the broad range of content it covers about all kinds of different fields from some basic features of aircraft design such as Chevron Nozzles to reduce noise pollution, to agricultural techniques and soil types along with the more expected Conservation!
I began to understand the holistic mindset or systems-based approach that I now see so clearly emphasised in the subject. Studying Environmental Science has given me insight into current world issues relating to the environment and teaches a range of practical solutions and innovations that apply a sustainable philosophy in a broad encompassing yet Scientific way.
I found it very useful maintaining a more scientific subject into A levels especially as my other subjects and what I’m going onto study at university are all Humanities, so Environmental Science has helped me to retain and further build on this useful way of thinking and writing, that can help with practical applications of new ideas.
I started Environmental Science as part of a course change very early on in year one of A levels but managed to catch up quickly and well as I’ve found the teaching engaging and supportive, with good learning resources such as a range of practice questions available both online and as question packs that are organised for each topic.
My studies in the subject have spurred me on to do my own research of innovative ways of solving the current day issues the world faces. I've found sustainable thinking to be very compatible and complimentary with traditional cultures and ways of life that deeply interests me and is why I am going on to read Theology and Religion at University, although now I'll do so with a broader understanding of pressing issues to our way of life, thanks to having studied Environmental Science
